The Royal BC Museum (RBCM) was founded in 1886 in response to a petition from prominent citizens who were worried about the loss of British Columbian artifacts. Since then, the RBCM has grown to include the provinces natural and human history museums, as well as the British Columbia Provincial Archives.
The Museum includes three permanent galleries: one devoted to natural history, one to modern history, and one to local First Nations’ history. The RBCM boasts a collection of over 7 million artifacts, specimens, and archival records (including 750,000 specimens exclusive to the province). The RBCM offers various public tours, educational programs, and temporary exhibits throughout the year.
For more information regarding the RBCM, tours, or programming, please consult the Museum website at www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca or contact the Museum directly at 250-356-7226.
From Vimy to Juno can be accessed by visitors during regular hours of operation.
