Thank-you very much Macklin School for recently hosting the From Vimy to Juno display. The school hosted our display for one week in early December. They were able to display many wonderful artifacts alongside our exhibit. Many of these artifacts have a direct personal connection to the Macklin community.
The exhibit even welcomed a very special visitor Second World War veteran Joe Deegenstien. Degenstien served in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard the HCMS Kenora, a mine sweeper. He stands holding an image of the vessel the blue post-it note mark where he was positioned. The HCMS Kenora was a convoy escort in the Battle of the Atlantic as well as apart of the invasion of Normandy.
