The Juno Beach Centre Association in Canada was thrilled to partner with Heritage Mississauga to host a special commemorative reception last night marking the upcoming Centennial of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and highlighting the exhibition of From Vimy to Juno: Canada in France 1914-1945 at the Mississauga Civic Centre.
Special thanks to Mayor Bonnie Crombie, who spoke on behalf of the City of Mississauga; Mr. Don Cooper, who spoke on behalf of the JBCA; and to Councillor Veronica King-Jamieson, a representative of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, who brought greetings on behalf of the New Credit Council.
We were especially pleased to welcome veterans, including currently serving members of the CAF, as well as the descendants of Mr. Garth Webb, founder of the Juno Beach Centre.
Our sincerest thanks to the team at Heritage Mississauga and to everyone in attendance!
From Vimy to Juno will be on display in the Great Hall of the Mississauga Civic Centre until April 2.
