The Juno Beach Centre in Canada was happy to welcome visitors to the From Vimy to Juno exhibition on Sunday 5 June at an Open House hosted by the New Brunswick Military History Museum at CFB Gagetown.
Brief remarks were given by Colonel MacIsaac, Commander of 5th Canadian Division Support Base, and by Jen Sguigna of the Juno Beach Team. MP Matt DeCourcey also greeted gathered guests. Major Harold Skaarup and a representative from the Gregg Centre for the Study of War and Society gave some background knowledge on New Brunswick’s rich military history.
We were especially pleased to welcome the MacNaughton family – descendants of Major John Archibald MacNaughton, a Canadian soldier who fought in both World Wars and who is featured in the From Vimy to Juno exhibition. We’re immensely grateful that the MacNaughton’s have been so willing to share Archie’s story with us and with the rest of Canada.
Our sincerest thanks goes out to CFB Gagetown and the New Brunswick Military History Museum for hosting us at this fantastic event. The From Vimy to Juno exhibition will be on display at the Museum until 26 June 2016. Check out our Exhibitions Page for more information.
