A Special Evening at Garth Webb Secondary

The Juno Beach Centre Association was thrilled to partner with Garth Webb Secondary School to host a special open house and exhibition of From Vimy to Juno.

Along with the travelling exhibit, artefacts from the Oakville Museum were displayed to highlight Halton’s rich military history, as well as commemorative projects created by GWSS students. The Juno Beach Centre was proud to collaborate with both the Oakville Museum and GWSS to bring this special travelling exhibition to Oakville.

“Garth Webb Secondary School is honoured to host From Vimy to Juno,” said Larry O’Malley, Principal of GWSS. “As the school named after Garth Webb, it is an important part of our school’s mission to honour the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who did so much to ensure the freedom and prosperity that we all enjoy in Canada. This exhibit provides an opportunity to share stories of courageous service with our students, parents and community members.”

Thank you to everyone who attended, and to the excellent teachers and student volunteers for helping to organize the event. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Juno Beach Centre in March 2017!
