Yesterday the Juno Beach Centre's Canadian team was in Montreal for a vernissage to launch From Vimy to Juno at the McGill University Hospital. The exhibition was on display alongside many rare artefacts describing the hospitals history, including a copy of In Flanders Fields handwritten by John McCrae. We were honoured to be in the presence of D-Day Veteran and JBC founder Okill Stuart, as well as Margie MacNaughton Glassford, the only daughter of First and Second World War veteran John Archibald MacNaughton. Major Andrew Beckett, a trauma surgeon who served in Bosnia and Afghanistan, addressed the crowd about the history of the hospital and the No. 3 General Hospital in the First World War.
The event was well-attended and the exhibits well-received. Thanks very much to the fantastic team at the Montreal General Hospital and Archives for putting together this event and hosting a wonderful afternoon!
